Hello and a Big Welcome to this Updated Newsletter.
Yes. I am Still working hard to get Queensland Hospital
Radio 1611 AM on
air. Yes, success is sometimes slow, but Hope and Effort are
not easy to squash!
When we are on air, a Queensland Hospital Radio Club
will be formed and You are invited to join. Wherever you are;
There are No membership fees; No rules. Only the offer of Friendship,
Entertainment and Information.
Now to answer Two Important Questions:
One is "How will you find your QHR Station?"
Answer: QHR has licence to be on the 1611AM Band so just
keep turning to the right on your radio until you hear the words
saying "You are listening to Queensland Hospital Radio."
Question Two is "What can you hear?"
Answer: Programes will be vast and varied
and include music to suit - for example - if a segment is on for our
young Listeners, then Their kind of music will be on air; if
something is presented for Teenagers, or Older Ears, then the tone
will be altered. Sound Right to you?
Your personal requests, if available, will be played if
at all possible, so will short serials, readings and interviews not
only with Medical People, but also with You, if you would like to
share ANY kind of experience whether good, sad, OK or not, And
Anything with Humor to brighten the day. If you want to pre-record it
first, that will be arranged too.
If you are unable to come in to the Studio, and would
like to contribute, just record your words in any way you like,and
mail it to :

Features.
Now a little inside information on how QHR started ...
While reading to patients in a leading Brisbane
Hospital, I felt that, instead of reading and talking to just a few
at a time, how much Better it would be if it could be done on a
larger basis, to reach as many people who would like to just sit
back, relax and listen - not only to words, but to music and any
worthwhile suggestions that you may offer.
So, time to sign off for now with the prayer that
"God Willing, Queensland Hospital Radio will successfully make
it to your radio in the very near future."

by her Beloved Husband ... These will be recorded and aired.
Betty also donated a Pair of Gaston Oil Paintings.
